FREE AT LAST

This year’s Winter Camp theme is FREE AT LAST!  In the weeks leading up to winter camp we’re going to be talking about getting out from under the crap in your life with our series “Freedom Fighter.”  We’re taking a hard look at what’s standing between who we are and who we want to be, and we’re tackling it!  We’re learning that through Christ we can be set free from sin, death, oppression, guilt, despair, hatred, suffering, shame, depression, self-doubt, fear and much, much more.  For me that leaves a big question open, though.  We’re set free from all of that, but what are we set free for?

That’s the question that Craig McAuley, youth pastor from Philadelphia Church, is going to be focusing on.  We’re going to be going deep and learning about not just what Christ has done for us but what our potential is to do for him!  Were going to find out that God’s plans for us blow our plans for us out of the water, and he’ll help us accomplish them.  Don’t miss this!

Winter Camp 2011 Coming Soon!

Our annual Winter Camp is coming up very, very soon! This year’s theme is FREE AT LAST, and it’s going to rock your socks off! We’ve got awesome teaching, insane games, and an epic rematch with a chance for the guys to regain some portion of their dignity from the girls. Any questions, check with Matt or any of the leaders. Don’t miss this!

RCC Harvest Party

Once everyone arrived Matt, our youth director, called all of us together to start the first game. He split all of us up into two teams, orange and black. The first game we had to balance 5 ball point pens, two dry erase markers, and one bouncy ball.  The hard part is we had to balance it on our faces. It proved to be quite difficult. The orange team won the first round, the second round was won by the black team, and the third round was won by the orange. With each win the team wins 1000 points. At the end of the day whoever has the most points wins a prize.

The second game, we played was called Zombie Tag. All you had to do was run as fast as you can away from the infected zombies. If you were ever caught you would become an infected zombie. Whoever was the last one standing, depending on what team you were on, would win.

Just before the final game, we needed to decide which costumes were the scariest, the funniest, and the most creative. The one that won most creative was the cave woman, and the one that won most funniest was the duck. After the costume contest, we had a little break, where we had bug slime and phlem juice with crushed beetle gut cupcakes and of course candy. To finish up the night, we did our final game called, ECK slime. Matt took two people from each team and guided them to a table with four bowls of ECK, slime. They had to finish all the substance in their bowls to win. In the end the black team won and their prize was more candy, of course. That was the end of our fantastic night at RCC.

Belize 2011

Hey all,

Last night was our interest meeting for Belize 2011.  Despite my 72pt font typo (the info packet said “2010″), the meeting was great, and we had a chance to field some excellent questions from some of the parents in attendance.  We’ve now got an idea of who’s interested in coming and are going to be forming the team pretty quickly from this point.  If you want to go (or even might want to go) and missed the meeting and didn’t talk to me ahead of time, please let me know as soon as possible.  This is going to be an AMAZING trip, but space is limited, and it will probably fill up pretty quickly.

Belize Interest Meeting

Hey All,

FUEL is heading down south to Belize in July of 2011! We’re going to be ministering to the local population, which endures extreme poverty despite a thriving luxury tourist industry. This meeting is for anyone (and the parents of anyone) interested in going with us. It is informational only; no commitment is required at this point. We plan on sharing our heart for this region as well as up-to-date details on the trip itself.

If you’re considering this trip at all, or even just want some information, make sure to attend this meeting.  You don’t have to sign up that night, but space will be limited.  Don’t miss out!  Let us know you’re coming on facebook.

Revelation Conference

Hey FUEL,

Just want to highlight an upcoming event real quick.  Our church is hosting a conference called “Hear What the Spirit Says to the Churches” October 8th & 9th.  We’ve got seven local pastors who will be going through the seven letters to the seven churches at the beginning of the book of Revelation.  If you were a part of the middle school home group last spring, you’re in an awesome position to grasp what’s going on.  If not, we’re going to be talking about the doctrine of Revelation (God making himself known to us) the two weeks prior to the conference, which will put you in a great place to understand the message.  It’s $10 if you register by this Sunday, and if you want to learn more about God and his awesome self-disclosure to us it’s worth every penny!  Check it out at the church website.
